Kaethe Maerz Basics

The basic line Elemental by Kaethe Maerz is made in Germany, just like the collection. All pieces are always available in seasonal colours. We use viscose jersey, which is skin-friendly and extremely comfortable to wear.

Viscose is a natural man-made fibre. Compared to synthetic fibres, where the raw materials are produced from crude oil and natural gas, viscose fibres are made of wood, a replenishable raw material. The burning process does not increase the carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere and therefore does not contribute to global warming. The fibres are bio-degradable. The energy and water consumption involved in its production and processing is much lower than with cotton. You also miss out on the herbicides and pesticides used in cotton farming, which can not only be traced in the environment but also in the actual garments.
